We are an independent, non-profit standards body dedicated to advancing global multi-asset trading through the development and promotion of the FIX Protocol and other standards.
Through our international membership, we address key business and regulatory challenges, enhancing operational efficiency, transparency, and reducing risks and costs for market participants worldwide.

FIX standards are open, technology-neutral specifications for electronic trading and trade processing.
They enable seamless, reliable communication across the full trade lifecycle from pre‑trade and execution to clearing, settlement and reporting. Developed and maintained by the industry to help firms increase efficiency, reduce cost and risk, and meet evolving regulatory and market requirements.
FIX initiatives bring together market participants to address shared business, regulatory and market structure challenges.
Driven by member input and industry need, and spanning asset classes and the full trade lifecycle, these aim to develop best practices and standards that improve efficiency, transparency and interoperability across global markets.
Practical, industry-led guidance on how to implement and use FIX standards consistently across real-world trading and post-trade scenarios.
Developed collaboratively by FIX working groups, these guidelines help firms apply the standards effectively, promote interoperability, and support regulatory and operational best practice across global markets.
We bring the industry together through a global programme of conferences, forums and networking events, complemented by community‑led initiatives such as FIX NextGen and Women in FIX.
These activities create inclusive spaces for collaboration, learning and development - supporting early‑career talent and strengthening engagement across regions, asset classes and generations.
