Thomas Venezia, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Trading Capabilities – Exchange-Traded Instruments, Financial & Risk, Thomson Reuters.
Tom Venezia is the Global Head of the Trading Capabilities business for exchange-traded instruments within the Trading business unit in the Financial & Risk division of Thomson Reuters. Thomson Reuters Trading delivers financial information, news, collaboration, and transactions services to support the trading floor activities of buy- and sell-side clients across global financial markets. The Exchange-Traded Instruments trading business focuses on news, content and transactional capabilities of the equity and derivative exchange market places.
Tom has over 20 years of experience in the financial markets working in various roles and leading several teams including sales, support, product management and business analysis. He has served as Global Head of Trading Capabilities since 2013 focused on Thomson Reuters order and execution routing business, liquidity discovery tools and external relationships with EMS and OMS providers. Tom was a senior member of the REDI acquisition deal team and is now a member of the management team for the Thomson Reuters REDI solution. He is currently a Director of the REDI Global Technologies LLC Broker Dealer and a member of the REDI Global Technologies LLC board of directors.
Tom first joined Reuters in October 2001 following its acquisition of Bridge Information Systems Inc, a market data and agency trading company. He joined Bridge as an electronic trading specialist in 1999 where he supported the trading desk and managed the electronic trading sales and support teams. Tom has considerable experience in the financial markets having worked at Chase Bank in New York from 1994 to 1996. He then moved to QV Trading Systems Inc. from 1996 to 1999, where he held a number of positions within the fixed income and equities trading divisions, designing and implementing transactional platforms for some of the largest banks and brokerage firms on the street.
Tom has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Finance and a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems, as well as advanced certifications in Object Oriented Development and Design and Technology Project Management from Baruch College and Villanova University, respectively.
