Laurie McAughtry, Head of Capital Markets, Euromoney
Laurie McAughtry is Head of Capital Markets at Euromoney, responsible for DCM, ECM, M&A and FX strategy across both primary and secondary markets. She joined from global publishing firm Markets Media as Managing Editor of Global Trading, where she oversaw the transformation and consolidation of the firm’s multiple equities titles into a single market-leading platform. She is a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion within financial services; and was formerly the global face of the industry-leading Women in Finance awards program.
With over two decades of experience in financial analysis, research and publishing, Laurie has a strong background across all asset classes, with expertise in market structure, trading and execution, public and private markets, regulation, sustainability, and financial services technology. She is also an acknowledged expert in Shariah compliant finance and has worked with numerous market authorities, banks and regulators across the GCC and APAC covering Sukuk and sovereign Sukuk programmes. An active speaker at events across the industry, Laurie holds a BA (hons) from Balliol College, Oxford and an MA in Publishing from Oxford Brookes, as well as a Diploma in Economics & Finance from Columbia University, New York and an MA in Business Practice from Cambridge University.
