Belinda Ellington, Senior Advisor, International Emissions Trading Association (IETA)
Belinda is a senior legal professional with more than 25 years’ experience in law, regulation, policy and negotiation relating to Banking, Trading and Finance across Global Commodities’ Markets and Sustainable Finance. She recently left Citi Bank, where she was MD and head of legal for commodities and sustainable finance, to focus on driving finance towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and conduct mediated negotiation and dispute resolution. One of her roles is as senior advisor to the International Emissions Trade Association, where she is intent on identify and resolving legal barriers and challenges across carbon markets and support development of effective carbon markets through capacity building. Belinda represents IETA on a number of projects and working groups including UNIDROIT, UNCITRAL, World Bank and the ICVCM and she supports the legal working group.
