Based in London, Melissa Ellis serves as the EMEA Head of Virtu Financial’s Workflow Technology business and oversees the firm’s client-focused Workflow Technology sales and product development with its flagship product being Triton Execution Management System (EMS).. Triton, Virtu’s award-winning EMS, is a global, broker-neutral, multi-asset-class platform that combines Virtu’s cutting-edge liquidity, execution, analytics and workflow solutions into one unified and customizable execution interface.
Melissa was a driving force in helping Triton earn the top spot in The TRADE’s global Execution Management Systems Survey for the past four years. The survey includes responses from buy-side traders and heads of trading, IT, operations and support. Triton outperformed the survey average in all 13 categories in 2023, 2022 and 2021.
Ms. Ellis joined global technology firm ITG in 2014—prior to the firm’s 2019 acquisition by Virtu Financial. During her tenure, Virtu has expanded its client base across Europe and asset classes. Virtu uses advanced technology and transparency to deliver liquidity to the global capital markets and helps clients pursue best execution in a scalable, efficient, and data-driven manner. Melissa works with clients on a daily basis to find solutions to create operationally efficient trading desks that can scale into the future.
Previously, Melissa held roles in the financial technology field in both product and sales, specializing in front office technologies across client segments such as retail, hedge funds, long-only institutions and sell-sides at firms such as Lehman Brothers, Barclays, and Eze Software Group.
